How to Choose the Car Clutch Plate? What Are the Precautions for Choosing It?

The role of clutch must be clear to everyone. Clutch plate as the main wear parts will appear clutch slip after excessive wear or even the failure of engine brake, so it is necessary to check and replace regularly. This article briefly introduces the purchase of clutch plate for you.

Ⅰ. The common model of the clutch plate

In the clutch model, the common φ360, 380, 400, 420 and other data refer to the size of clutch plate diameter (or outside diameter of clutch plate). The larger diameter of clutch can withstand the greater torque, so heavy trucks will use the larger size of clutch.

The clutch plate generally corresponds to the model, and in fact the clutch plate has a certain versatility, even if the plate has a variety of different styles. But as long as it corresponds to a few parameters it can be used as a substitution:

1. Outer diameter of clutch plate (generally referring to the outer diameter of friction plate. The key is to match the original clutch plate installation).

2. Spline size (number of teeth, major and minor diameter).

General clutch plate are worn too fast and excessively, whose part of reason is the work problem: poor flatness, uneven distribution of the quality of the circular plate.

We can look at the whole clutch plate and the middle steel sheet and check flatness. In general, the small clutch plate used thinner steel sheet, which will be easier to see that the steel sheet is not completely smooth and there will be a gap between the friction sheet. Usually here can see the quality of clutch plate.

Clutch plate damping plate, also known as torsion damping driven plate. When clutch is engaged, it will play a buffer role through the compression spring.

The number, length and stiffness coefficient of springs used on different clutch plates are different, resulting in different buffer strength. The direct consequence of using is that the feeling of foot is deviation when driving.

If we use the spring of fewer and lower stiffness coefficient, the buffer will be strengthened and the clutch plate engagement will be slower, which can improve the comfort of driving.

But for the sake of reliability, it is not recommended to use the clutch plate with less spring and weak strength in the truck.

In addition, there are some clutch plates whose cost is lower without spring damping driven plate. They are more used in agricultural vehicles. Features are that there is no buffer and clutch joint is very fast, so it is also used in modified trucks, generally not recommended.

In addition, the friction plate connection of the car clutch plate of some trucks is particularly weak, and the whole damping driven plate will fall off under long-term high intensity work, which also needs special attention.

Ⅱ. The friction plate structure of clutch plate

The introduction on the market will be simple, such as covering yarn, non-asbestos, copper substrate, etc. The mainstream is non-asbestos whose quality and price are different because of all sorts of different material.

The friction sheet of clutch plate is mainly composed of:

1. Skeleton (yarn, cloth, other fiber material or wire).

2. Friction regulator (packing).

3. Binder (resin, rubber).

4. The dye.

The most important one is the skeleton, and the friction sheet of clutch plate has many kinds of materials, most of which are composite materials, such as asbestos cloth, glass fiber, acrylic fiber, aramid fiber, metal wire and so on.
